Aphorisms for Artists by Walter Darby Bannard

Aphorism #6

Good art is the product of an integrated personality.

Artists are known for their eccentricity, but somewhere in their heads something is working right.

I think that the notoriety of artists is caused by their habit of going their own way and doing what they want to do, no matter what anyone thinks.

This sets them apart from the crowd, which consists of people acting very strangely but in socially acceptable ways.

Previous: Art is too popular.

Next: See first. Name later.
