When it gets easy, get busy.

Often I will praise a passage in a student work, only to hear, “But that was so easy. It only took me a few minutes!”

They assume that to be any good, art must be hard-won.

Yes, art is hard. But sometimes you get in a groove and things start humming. Trust it, grab it and run with it. It won’t last.
